The Analog Circle
Our values
The Analog Circle is a home for expats. You meet the same people every month, and that is where the consistency and the depth come from.
It only works if everyone holds to the same things. Three values sit underneath it all: kindness, commitment and confidentiality. This is what each one looks like in practice.
Kindness
Treat people well, especially when it is hard.
Be kind
Treat every member with kindness and respect. Personal attacks, harassment or disrespectful language will not be tolerated. Be mindful that humour can be misread, especially without non‑verbal cues.
Be real
Speak from the heart. Share how you’re actually feeling, even when it’s messy or uncertain. Speak with kindness, especially when something feels hard to say.
Be generous
Give, give, give. Relationships are not transactional and we don’t keep score. We show up for each other in the good times as well as the bad. When someone asks for help or is in need, help them. Go the extra mile, and they’ll do the same for you.
Listen deeply
Listen from the heart, with respect and without judgement. Before giving advice, ask if it’s wanted. Never pressure anyone to share more than they’re comfortable with.
Handle tension with care
If you disagree with someone or feel hurt by a comment, address it calmly and preferably in private. Have a call if needed, because context gets lost in text messages. Describe the impact of their words rather than attacking their character. We will have conflicts, and resolving them is how a group gets stronger.
Commitment
This works because people keep coming back.
Show up
The space works because people show up with consistency and care. By default, we expect you to be there. If you can’t make it, let the group know ahead of time.
Say yes
You will get invited to things. Say yes, and enjoy the time together in person. If you can’t make it, suggest another time or give some context. Invite people out spontaneously, and bring them into the hobbies and activities you already do. We do things together.
Ask for help
If you have a question or need help, ask the group. We rely on each other. If something feels off or you need extra support, reach out to Valerie or Bolu, who look after the community.
Confidentiality
Your real life is allowed here, because it stays here.
What’s shared stays here
This is a private space built on trust, safety and intimacy. Stories, messages and personal details stay inside The Analog Circle unless you have clear permission to share them elsewhere.
Stay on purpose
Keep what you post in our online channels in line with what The Analog Circle is for. No spam, self-promotion or unrelated content unless it’s clearly invited and relevant.
If these sound like the people you want around you, apply to join The Analog Circle.
