These terms apply to consumers and businesses who purchase an Inner Circle / The Analog Circle membership via theanalogcircle.com or a linked checkout (including Stripe). By completing payment, you accept these terms.

Membership is invite-only. Completing checkout after an invitation forms a binding membership contract for the term described below.

Membership is a curated community membership for expats living in Berlin. It typically includes:

• Placement in an Inner Circle of about eight vetted members
• Inner Circle dinners (about eight per membership year)
• Access to community experiences and the private WhatsApp community
• Opportunities for 1:1 and member-led activities as offered from time to time

Exact schedules, venues, and formats may vary. We curate circles and coordinate scheduling; Inner Circle dinners are hosted by members. We do not guarantee specific friendships, outcomes, or that every event will suit every member.

Membership is intended for people living in Berlin who can attend in-person gatherings and host an Inner Circle dinner in their home about once per year.

Membership is billed annually (12-month membership year).

The standard list price is €650 per year. Founding members who join under a founding offer pay €400 per year when paying in full, and that price is kept for as long as the membership continues without interruption (see § 5).

Where offered at checkout, you may instead pay in two instalments: €150 due immediately and €300 due on the date shown at checkout / in your payment confirmation (€450 total for that membership year). The second instalment is charged to the payment method on file unless you and we agree otherwise in writing.

Prices are in euros. Unless stated otherwise at checkout, amounts are total prices for the membership year. Payment is processed by Stripe or another payment provider shown at checkout.

The initial term is 12 months from the date payment is successfully completed (or from another start date we confirm in writing).

You may end the membership at the close of the initial term by giving us at least 14 days' notice before that term expires.

If you do not, membership renews automatically for successive 12-month periods. Each renewal covers a full membership year. To stop further renewal, give us at least 14 days' notice before the end of the then-current membership year. Cancellation then takes effect at the end of that year.

To cancel, use the permanently available button Verträge hier kündigen in the website footer (also at /kuendigen), which leads to a confirmation page. You may also email hello@theanalogcircle.com. No particular form of words is required.

Price after the initial term. Founding-rate members keep their founding annual price for as long as the membership continues without interruption. Otherwise the then-current list price applies. We will tell you about any price change before it takes effect.

Billing after the initial term. We bill annually in advance for each renewed 12-month membership year. Ordinary cancellation does not create a mid-year refund for a year already billed; fees for that membership year remain payable through the end of the year, except where a refund right below or mandatory law (including Widerrufsrecht) applies.

We may cancel for material breach (including serious disruption of community safety or repeated no-shows without notice), with effect at the end of the current membership year or, in serious cases, with immediate effect. Statutory rights of either party to terminate for cause remain unaffected.

Ending the membership at the close of a membership year does not entitle you to a refund of fees for that year, except where a refund right below or mandatory law (including Widerrufsrecht) applies.

After your membership starts, we begin forming or seating you in an Inner Circle. We curate using factors such as shared interests, proximity, and group balance. Placement is discretionary; there is no entitlement to a specific person, neighbourhood, or dinner date.

We aim to seat you within 90 days of joining. If you are not seated in an Inner Circle within 90 days, you may request a full refund of membership fees paid for the current membership year, and you will be prioritised for a later cohort if you wish to remain interested. This placement refund ends once you have been seated (added to your circle's communication channel / confirmed placement).

If your seated circle does not feel like a fit and you wish to stay in the community, you may request a free re-match to another circle. Re-match requests must be made no later than 7 days after the third Inner Circle dinner. Re-match is subject to available seats and does not extend the membership year or create a new fee obligation by itself.

Beyond statutory rights (including Widerrufsrecht in § 9) and the 90-day placement refund in § 6, we offer the following goodwill guarantee:

Analog Circle Guarantee. If you attend at least one of the first three Inner Circle dinners and one community experience, and you then decide membership is not worth it, we will refund the membership fees you paid for the current membership year in full, provided you submit the refund request by email to hello@theanalogcircle.com within 7 days of the third Inner Circle dinner.

The Guarantee is for members who show up and engage. It is not intended for tourists or for members who do not meet the attendance conditions above. Approved Guarantee refunds end the membership for that year.

Except as stated in these terms or required by law, fees are non-refundable. Missed dinners, moves within Berlin, or personal schedule conflicts do not create a refund right by themselves.

For split-payment members, a full refund under § 6 or § 7 means repayment of instalments already paid; any unpaid second instalment is cancelled.

Members are expected to show up reliably, give the group advance notice when they cannot attend, treat others with respect, and keep community spaces (including WhatsApp) confidential and kind.

Hosting once a year in your home is part of how Inner Circles work. As host, please make sure your home is reasonably safe for guests, ask about allergies before planning food, offer non-alcoholic options, and let us know early if you can't host so your circle can rearrange. If hosting isn't workable for you, tell us and we'll agree an alternative.

We may remove someone from a channel or circle, or terminate membership for cause, if conduct seriously harms other members or the community.

If you are a consumer (Verbraucher) within the meaning of § 13 BGB, you have a statutory right of withdrawal for distance contracts as set out below. The official instruction (Widerrufsbelehrung) and model form follow in German.

We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, and where mandatory product liability or other mandatory law so requires.

For slight negligence we are liable only for breach of essential contractual duties (Kardinalpflichten), and then limited to foreseeable damage typical for this type of contract. We are not liable for the conduct of other members, hosts, or third-party venues, except where we ourselves are at fault under the rules above.

Community gatherings take place in private homes and public places. Please follow host and venue rules.

Member-hosted Inner Circle dinners. Inner Circle dinners are arranged and hosted by members in their own homes. The host decides the premises, the catering and the arrangements, and is responsible for the safety of their premises and for compliance with any applicable house rules or tenancy obligations. The Analog Circle matches members and coordinates scheduling; it does not organise, run, staff or supervise these gatherings and is not the organiser (Veranstalter) of them.

Events organised by The Analog Circle. Events we announce as ours are organised by The Analog Circle. For these we act as organiser and our liability is governed by § 10 above. Please follow the instructions of our team and the rules of the venue.

We may update these terms for future membership years or new sign-ups. For ongoing memberships, we will notify you of material changes in advance (e.g. by email). If you do not object within a reasonable period stated in the notice and continue the membership, the new terms apply from the stated effective date, unless mandatory law requires your express consent.

German law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. If you are a consumer habitually resident in the EU/EEA, you also keep the protection of mandatory provisions of your country of residence.

We are neither obliged nor willing to participate in dispute-resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board.

If any provision of these terms is invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect. Invalid provisions are replaced by rules that most closely reflect the economic purpose, to the extent permitted by law.
